New arrivals… tell me more, tell me more!

We recently welcomed this sweet, very friendly, couple to our sanctuary and, like many of our horses, we know very little about them.

Since several of our committee members are tragic “Grease” fans, the vote was unanimous to name them Kenickie (right) and Rizzo! With Pep and Chance already loved-up in the paddock, summer nights at HRA are definitely a little electrifying!

I’ll see myself out.

A Horsey Collaboration!

HRA has just entered into a collaboration with an online pet supplies shop, Vet Shop Australia. When our supporters shop with them they use our special link and we receive a donation. Pep ~ February HoM

Pep, our February Horse of the Month, is an eight-year-old thoroughbred chestnut mare who arrived at our sanctuary in July 2019. She was surrendered to us because her owner could no longer care for her due to the devastating drought in western NSW. On arrival, she was underweight and shy, but quickly thrived under the watchful eye of our manager. It wasn’t long before she joined the main herd in the big paddock and was readily welcomed by the Chestnut Mare Gang + Chance, our sole chestnut gelding. In fact, Chance was so taken with this elegant, somewhat aloof, girl that they have been inseparable ever since.
