Clancy arrived early January with his mate Ranger from a property in Newcastle where they’d been abandoned to fend for themselves for 3 years! He has some horrible scarring to his front feet due to old injuries or illnesses, but he has no lameness. Hiding under his beautiful mane are also some very strange indentations to both sides of his neck, which we suspect are due to some form of abuse. They are certainly not normal horse anatomy!
Clancy is fearful of new things and gave our farrier a hard time when getting his feet trimmed, certainly for the first time in years. Despite that, he really is a very sweet friendly boy who will come up to say hello and have a pat. Whilst a little wary of our intentions at present we are hoping with time and love handsome Clancy will learn to trust more.
