Volunteer Days & Working with the Horses

Horses enjoying a groom on volunteer day.

We hold volunteer days every second month at our property at 465 Tizzana Road, Ebenezer, from 10am till 1pm. Usually we give all the horses a much needed groom and clean up, and also do a little bit of “poo patrol” (occasionally there are other tasks to be done). Mostly it is just a nice day spent in the company of the horses and other like minded people. We supply morning tea and cold drinks, but please bring any food you require.

When the temperature gets up towards 40 degrees it’s really no fun for people or horses, so we may very occasionally need to cancel. If you intend coming to a volunteer day and the weather is particularly hot please just check back here or our FB page before leaving home in case we have had to cancel.

If you are a NEW volunteer planning to attend for the FIRST time you are required to complete and send our volunteer registration form below.

FOR BOTH NEW AND EXISTING VOLUNTEERS – if you intend to come to an upcoming volunteer day then please click the icon to email us and let us know number of adults and children attending so we can better plan the day. We would prefer a week’s notice if possible. Thank you.

Volunteer days 2017
  • – 1st October
  • – 3rd December followed by Xmas party!

Health and Safety

  • – Closed in shoes must be worn (boots are preferable).
  • – A hat is a good idea as there is limited shade on the property.
  • – Dogs are strictly not allowed.
  • – We will supply sunscreen and insect repellent.

Working bees are held periodically as needed so watch this space if you’d like to help with gardening, rubbish clean up, minor building works, fencing repairs, etc.

From time to time we will alert our volunteers to help needed at market stalls, selling raffle tickets, cooking BBQ’s, etc. Any time you can spare on these occasions will be most appreciated.
